One of the real challenges of introducing tinkering activities is being able to source suitable resources. If you walk into a typical hardware shop and buy some wood, young children are unable to use it. The wood is simply too hard for Early Years children to be able to drill into it or hammers nails into it. Our materials are all selected with care, our wood is soft end grain and is cut to a length that the nails won't come through. The drilling rounds are thinner so that holes can be created easier. Knowing you have a good supply of materials means you can not only create displays in your setting but could also let the children make gifts such as Father's Day presents - always a tricky one to find!
